Africa’s indigenous cattle breed, the nguni, is remarkable for many reasons. Its amazingly complex and rugged hide is exceptional in beauty and flair. We love our nguni cattle herd at Gariep Eco Reserve for its resistance to disease, friendly disposition and large variety of horn shapes.
Over many years we’ve cultivated a farming system in tune with the land we use and live on. The livestock are nurtured as nature intended, with minimal human interference. Nguni cattle are perfectly adjusted to proper here at Gariep Eco Reserve. We also breed with a variety of indigenous sheep species.
